Job description

My client are a Global Hedge Fund seeking a talented and driven individual to join the Global Operations team in Mayfair as a Operations Analyst.

This team operates in a highly automated, volume-driven environment and is dedicated to continuous process improvement. Directly supporting the portfolio management and trading teams, you will have the opportunity to build expertise across a breadth of markets and financial instruments.

This role offers hybrid working, office 1 day a week.

Responsibilities as Operations Analyst:

  • Trade Support

  • Direct support of the trading, capital markets, quantitative and fundamental investment teams

  • Pre- and post-trade operational controls across multiple asset classes

  • Stock Loan & Portfolio Financing

  • Oversight of the firm’s daily locate and financing optimization processes

  • Sourcing borrow color and liquidity for portfolio managers

  • Operational Risk Management

  • Responsibility for the firm’s operational risk platform

  • Process Engineering

  • Build new and develop existing processes

  • Asset Servicing & Capital Markets

  • Monitoring of upcoming corporate action events

  • Real-time processing of both mandatory and voluntary events

  • Researching and summarising key event details and commercial terms for investment teams

  • Collection, submission and tracking of portfolio managers’ elections and liabilities

  • Coverage of multiple asset types including equity, CFD, options, CDS and bonds

  • Proxy voting

Qualifications required as Operations Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with demonstrated record of academic or professional achievement

  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex scenarios and think critically

  • Intellectually curious with a self-starter mentality, keen attention to detail, excellent time management skills and an ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Technical skills (such as SQL, Python, data analysis, Power BI or VBA) are beneficial but not pre-requisite as training will be provided

This role pays up to £85k plus a discretionary bonus.
