Job description

An exciting opportunity has developed for a Paralegal to join this City Law Firm, however based from their Colchester office. Preferably you will have conveyancing or property experience to support this busy Securitisation Team. This is an excellent opening for those looking to develop their property legal skills, or have recently graduated in Law, with some office experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Solicitors with specific tasks in relations to their files: including identifying Titles, obtaining Official Copy Entries and Office Copy Documents from the Land Registry Link, carrying out Searches, obtaining items from Local Authorities, chasing for outstanding items, carrying out pre-completion Land Registry Searches and dealing with post-completion matters;
  • Keep the Solicitor updated with progress reports
  • Ensure files are upto date and filed accurately electronically
  • Supporting and provide cover to the other paralegals within the team
  • Meeting targets for example monthly billing targets
  • Undertaking tasks and duties that are appropriate for the role of Paralegalg. changes in information systems and new technology
  • Adhoc support to other teams if capacity allows

Person Specification

  • At least 1 degree or equivalent in Law (or appropriate conversion)
  • Ambitious and willing to

Desirable

  • Successful completion of the LPC or studying the LPC part time.

Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 dependent on experience

Hybrid working: 2 days in the office (full times whilst training for a couple of weeks)
