Job description

​Our client is an established and successful investment manager based in London. With a current headcount of just over 20 staff and partners, they have a culture dedicated to providing the best possible service based on the experience and professionalism of the founders and team. They recently set up a new Wealth Planning offering to provide pre and post-retirement advice, specializing in lifetime allowance planning, tax-efficient retirement strategies, and estate planning. They are looking for a Paraplanner to join their team and support their Head of Wealth and Wealth Planning Team.

Key Purpose of the Role:

​To provide paraplanning services to support the Head of Wealth and the Wealth Planning Team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Experience of preparing suitability / recommendation reports.

  • Producing fund switch letters and performing necessary research.

  • Producing withdrawal letters and obtaining all necessary documentation.

  • Analysing information received from clients and providers and utilising research tools.

  • Analysing clients' existing products to determine whether they meet the clients' current needs and objectives.

  • Undertaking fund performance and illustration comparisons.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Contacting clients to schedule calls and obtain certain information.

  • Contacting third parties and providers to clarify technical points / resolve ambiguity.

  • Preparing client valuations and annual review packs.

  • Obtaining/generating necessary information and performing research for advisers when requested.

Skills & Experience:

  • ​Expert knowledge of financial planning, pensions and investments, ideally gained dealing with complex client scenarios.

  • Minimum of 3 years in the financial services industry.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), including client liaison.

  • Experience of working with industry known tools such as Voyant, FE Express etc.

  • Self-motivated, pro-active and hard working.

  • Adaptable and receptive to feedback.

  • Enthusiasm to grow with business in an ambitious company.

  • Good financial and mathematical literacy.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning on way to Chartered Financial Planner status
