Job description

Due to continued growth our Client is seeking a Personal Tax Manager to support a varied client portfolio including High Net Worth domestic clients, Non-Domiciles, Expatriates and Professional Athletes / Footballers and Entertainers. Working with their global network of firms and our wealth managers and other partners

The Personal Tax Manager will assist with tax planning and compliance for both their UK domestic as well as our internationally mobile client base. Experience with international tax planning / advisory would be an advantage, but the position would also suit a personal tax specialist looking to move into an international role and acquire new skills (for which full training will be provided)

Duties of the Personal Tax Manager include:

  • Managing a portfolio of UK based (domestic) clients for personal tax advisory and compliance
  • Assisting with tax planning, advisory and compliance services for our international clients, including those moving to / from the UK
  • Assisting non-domiciled individuals / and deemed domiciles residing in the UK on a long-term basis with personal tax / IHT planning and compliance
  • Assisting with tax planning and compliance services for sports professionals and entertainers, including employed, self-employed and setup / administration of image rights structures
  • Tax residence and tax treaty planning for UK residents / dual resident with foreign assets
  • Dealing with HMRC audits and investigations
  • Dealing with new enquiries, marketing, and business development opportunities
  • Meetings with new and existing clients (face to face and/or via video conference)
  • Reviewing UK tax returns (working with a team of client support / tax assistant / tax seniors)
  • Liaising with HMRC, clients, third party partner firms and our global network of offices
  • Attending conferences, marketing and training events and seeking new business opportunities
  • Mentoring junior staff members and assisting with their training and development

Training will be provided for the right candidate in respect of any areas in which relevant experience is not already held.
