Job description
Our client, a rapidly expanding fintech are looking to recruit an experienced procurement officer to sit with their finance team to monitor and manage contracts, vendors and general procurement. You will be involved in sourcing suppliers, working on contracts, and putting together a negotiation strategy around pricing.
Day-to-Day responsibilities will include:
- Monitor, negotiate and agree on contracts
- Research to ensure our client sources the best deals for the business
- Be responsible for building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Develop strategies to ensure that cost savings targets are met, or even better yet, are exceeded
- Strong Category Management expertise (developing category plans and strategies
- Regular RFP for vendors and evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial factors
- Negotiate pricing with vendors
- Analyse data and produce reports on spending and saving across the business
- Ensures strategic procurement of goods to meet business needs.
- Work with stakeholders to put together a negotiation strategy around pricing
- Liaise between different teams across the business - specifically our finance, IT and Sales and Operations teams
- Undertake regular value for money reviews
Candidate profile and skills:
- 4 - 5 years' experience working in a similar role
- Strong negotiation skills
- Good commercial and financial awareness
- Familiar with running procurement cycles with Cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, Google, and Microsoft Azure
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Ability to analyse statistics and data
- Good attention to detail
- Strong project management skills
- Previous experience working in a fintech/ scale-up business
- It would also be great if you are a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) - MCIPS - or to be working towards becoming a member.
