Job description

Our client, a global leading Investment Manager based in the West End of London, are looking to recruit an RFP/Investment Writer to join their expanding RFP Team. As a vital member of the RFP team, the RFP Writer is accountable for managing all aspects of the request for proposal (RFP) and due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) process from start to final copy, often under very tight deadlines. Responsibilities include writing/editing answers, gathering data from multiple sources (not all centralised), and working closely with institutional sales and client service teams. The role requires managing up to four (4) projects with varying degrees of complexity with poise, calm, and a can-do attitude. This position requires the ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of staff across business units throughout the firm.

The OCIO/fiduciary management business is our clients' core offering so a working knowledge of UK pension schemes with experience as an investment/RFP writer is essential for this role. A self-starter who enjoys analysis and has knowledge of financial concepts and investments is a plus. The successful candidate will work with a variety of subject matter experts in an inspiring environment. The candidate will be able to use their creative and influencing skills to build an internal network to increase their knowledge of our clients' services and products.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Regulatory & Business conduct

  • Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our clients' Global Code of Conduct.
  • Taking personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across the business.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance.

Completion of RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and surveys

  • Completion of RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and surveys for prospects and clients within the EMEA region.
  • Working in close collaboration with sales and client service teams, our offshore resources, and counterparts in other regions.
  • Responsible for using standard answers from our client's global database Qvidian and then tailoring for bespoke mandates, identifying where new content is required.
  • Providing answers that articulate our clients' value proposition and competitive advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail (financial figures such as AUM and performance, and grammar, punctuation, spelling) and exceptional organisational skills are a must.

Relationship Management

  • Interviewing and liaising with internal knowledge experts (investment professionals, product specialists, finance, compliance, risk, legal, marketing, etc.) in support of the above.
  • Ability to re-write/edit responses received from the various stakeholders listed above when needed.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • BSc/BA English, Maths / Economics, Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • An understanding of asset management and UK pension schemes required.
  • Experience as an investment/RFP writer within asset management essential.
  • Investment Management Certificate or CFA Foundations course desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts and investments a plus.

Attention to detail

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong grammar and punctuation skills

Planning and organising

  • Ability to prioritise projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and coordinate project timelines with all stakeholders.
  • Problem solving content/process issues as needed
  • Research skills using a variety of systems.

Software

  • Proficient user of entire Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Qvidian database a plus.
