Job description

The Role:

To support the business in delivering improvements to the key business driver of membership revenue performance understanding and insight, through reporting analysis and challenge.

The Job:

  • Highlight weekly performance trends to improve business profitability across all gyms
  • Development of membership mix reporting and tracking to highlight key performance trends (weekly and monthly)
  • Provide weekly analysis of membership revenue for trade meeting
  • Working closely with Finance team and the Insights team to fully understand the membership performance of the clubs, developing strong relationship with Configuration team
  • Provide analytical support for the regular pricing and competitor meetings
  • Ownership of key commercial analysis including: pre-sale gyms and price changes
  • Develop understanding of core membership processes across the business, and within the membership system, to ensure integrity of all membership reporting
  • Ensure monthly membership reporting is completed timely and accurately, developing the reporting in-line with changing business priorities
  • Key involvement in short term and longer term membership volume and yield quarterly forecasting - partnering with Operations team
  • Support in the annual budget process and helping to ensure this is delivered in agreed timescales
  • Continual development of management information systems, to improve automation of reporting to key business users
  • Support the Commercial team with monthly corporate and commercial reporting for both membership and revenue

The Person

  • Strong academic qualifications
  • Part Qualified Accountant
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ideally experience of working with multi-dimensional databases
  • Ideally experience in multi-site leisure/retail industry
  • Confidence in dealing with senior management and working cross functionally - credible partnering with Ops, Marketing, Commercial and IT departments is critical to role.
  • Able to self-motivate and work to strict deadlines
  • Effective prioritisation skills, and able to demonstrate flexibility in working practices
  • Demonstrates a drive for success, and hunger to influence business performance
  • Able to demonstrate commercial thinking.
