Job description
A luxury furniture company based in the heart of London are seeking an experienced bookkeeper. They are looking for someone to join their company predominantly working from home - 4 days working from home 1 day in the office.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for :
- Maintaining payroll, staff expenses, petty cash and external suppliers accounts
- Ensure all posting of expenses are accurately done first time in line with the chart of accounts and reconciliations are performed for the monthly close, including accruals and other provisions
- Monitor correct budget and cost codes in the accounting system
- Ensure smooth administration of income
- Raise invoices and ensure timely payment of such
- Preparing annual budgets as needed
- Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
- Keep accurate up to date financial records on an accrual's basis
Qualifications, skills and experience :
- Several years of experience in a finance role - Not mandatory to be qualified
- Exposure to and experience using Xero
- Ability to present and explain financial information clearly to non-finance staff, whilst understanding the need for confidentiality over some data
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
This role is paying £40,000.
