Job description

A luxury furniture company based in the heart of London are seeking an experienced bookkeeper. They are looking for someone to join their company predominantly working from home - 4 days working from home 1 day in the office.

As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for :

  • Maintaining payroll, staff expenses, petty cash and external suppliers accounts
  • Ensure all posting of expenses are accurately done first time in line with the chart of accounts and reconciliations are performed for the monthly close, including accruals and other provisions
  • Monitor correct budget and cost codes in the accounting system
  • Ensure smooth administration of income
  • Raise invoices and ensure timely payment of such
  • Preparing annual budgets as needed
  • Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
  • Keep accurate up to date financial records on an accrual's basis

Qualifications, skills and experience :

  • Several years of experience in a finance role - Not mandatory to be qualified
  • Exposure to and experience using Xero
  • Ability to present and explain financial information clearly to non-finance staff, whilst understanding the need for confidentiality over some data
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

This role is paying £40,000.
