Our client, a leading Investment Manager based in the City of London are looking for a Technology & Systems Specialist to join their Real Estate Department. You'll be responsible for the administration and improvement of the Business' real estate investment, financial and property management systems and to integrally contribute to maximising operational efficiencies through the use of real estate technology systems. The role will require close working cooperation with all aspects of the business from deal origination to asset management and finance and operations, as well as Central Services teams

Main responsibilities of the Technology & Systems Specialist will include;

  • Work with the Head of Finance and Operations and the Finance and Asset Management Teams to leverage technology in the most efficient manner
  • Integrally contribute to developing technology tools (data warehousing, automated project management, report writing) to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations
  • Administer the Horizon system, including training and development, and the testing and adoption of the regular service pack updates
  • Front line support for internal and external users of the Horizon property management software and responsibility for helpdesk calls with the software providers to ensure issues are resolved in good time
  • Capture data on Horizon and the Data Warehouse to allow extraction of relevant and accurate data
  • Production of monthly and ad hoc reports for inclusion in quarterly and other ad hoc reports and presentations
  • On-board new projects and third-party agents, including working with all stakeholders to ensure the SPV structure and requirements are met within the system
  • Provide supervision of the Expense Recovery Module (Service Charge) across all jurisdictions, ensuring agents are proactively maintaining the module and identifying any training requirements
  • Develop and update procedures manuals
  • Maintain existing reports as well as creating new and ad-hoc reports
  • Regularly review data integrity and develop further controls to ensure the systems are operating in line with governance policies
  • Work with Fund Accounting and Operations team to ensure API links with other systems are appropriate and develop additional data transfers for reporting purposes
  • Provide support to asset management and Finance teams and work with third parties to ensure efficient system application

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

  • Experienced user of Horizon property management system - candidates without knowledge/experience of this system won't be considered
  • Familiarity with and a keen interest in technology
  • Demonstrable experience working in a Real Estate/Property Investment firm and business acumen
  • Understanding of accounting concepts
  • Exposure to SSRS reports a benefit
  • Clear and concise communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear manner to those not familiar with technology
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team in an efficient manner and to tight deadlines, often in response to critical business issues
  • Analytical and creative approach to problem solving
