Job description

Prestigious International Bank based in the City of London, are looking to recruit a Venture Lending Relationship Manager to join their expanding Corporate Banking Department.

Principal objectives of the Venture Lending Relationship Manager will include;

  • To develop and maintain a portfolio of customers which is of good quality and produces the required level of profitability;
  • To introduce to the Bank new corporate customers requiring venture debt and complete new credit facilities;
  • To prepare credit proposals accurately and present them to Credit Committee in a timely fashion;
  • To manage the day-to-day relationship and risk assessment of each of your customers;
  • To market the services of the bank to new and potential customers and attend professional events and networking.

Principal responsibilities will include;

  • To market the services of the Branch/Bank to new and existing customers, identifying and investigating new business opportunities;
  • To visit customers and potential customers both to identify their needs and to enhance the Branch's knowledge of them;
  • To negotiate with customers/potential customers, particularly concerning interest rates, fees and terms and conditions upon which credit may be extended;
  • To establish and develop relationships with customers;
  • Marketing - attending professional events and networking;
  • To liaise with Head Office for any new credits/renewals in respect of your portfolio of customers and ensure replies to their questions are provided in an accurate and concise manner;
  • To prepare Facility letters in respect of your portfolio of customers;
  • To liaise when necessary with lawyers and accountants;
  • To monitor external ratings, watch list customers and any financial/non-financial covenants in respect of your portfolio;
  • To identify and follow-up any delinquent loan positions including non-payment of interest or principal on due dates;
  • To monitor the collections of interest and fees in respect of your portfolio;
  • To monitor FX and Option positions and risks of your portfolio;
  • To ensure that all forms of security in respect of your portfolio are properly taken to protect the Branch's portfolio;

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have previous/relevant Venture Capital/Lending experience.
