Job description

Join a famous luxury fashion brand as an Accounts Assistant based just outside the City of London. Liaising with the finance department and reporting to the Credit Manager, you will look at new processes and procedures to be implemented and provide training to the wider credit control team. A passion for the fashion retail industry is a must-have for this role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities as Accounts Assistant

  • Identify potential fraudulent transactions through the website and on payment acquirers' portals, cancelling orders and processing refunds for these where required.
  • Respond to customers' queries regarding cancelled orders by telephone and email.
  • Releasing other credit held orders from the system to the warehouse for processing.
  • Create excel spreadsheets detailing payments from various payment acquirers' websites daily by country and currency.
  • Build bank statements receipts with charges to post to the AR ledger.
  • Post payments to the AR ledger accounts and allocate to the correct invoices and credit notes, posting over and under payments.
  • Make refunds to customers through external systems, keep records and liaise with other departments where required.
  • Prepare documentation for signature by management for refunds that cannot be made through websites.
  • Ensure that sales ledger accounts are fully reconciled on an ongoing basis, arranging correction invoices and credits with the ecommerce customer service team.
  • Maintain a log of daily bank charges by payment acquirer for the Finance departments monthly reporting.
  • Liaise with Credit Manager, Ecommerce department, warehouse and payment card issuers to investigate and resolve charge back claims.
  • Maintain a log of all charge backs and actions taken to resolve.
  • Ensure that all processes are documented and kept up to date.
  • Assist with staff sales orders and payments as required.
  • Assist with any other credit control responsibilities as required.
  • Work with the credit manager in the role out of the new system due in 2022. Look at new processes and procedures to be implemented and provide training to the wider credit control team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of Ecommerce in a retail environment
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Self-starter, attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Account receivable knowledge
