My cleint is a leading retail brand looking to recruit an enthusiastic Assistant Finance Accountant to join their dynamic Finance division. The role is a minimum of 6 months and paying upto £250 per/day.

Compliance

• Manage the VAT return submission process by completing the UK VAT returns and reviewing the work of the VAT service centre on the foreign branch returns.
• Complete statutory returns for Governmental and other bodies. E.g. intrastat / ON

Controls

• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations at each period end, ensuring reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis
• Continually seek ways to improve financial processes and how we use our systems

Other

• Calculation and posting of period end journals and co-ordinating with others in finance to ensure that the timetable is adhered to
• Responsibility for all intercompany related processes, including reconciling the intercompany matrix
• Provide meaningful commentary on areas of responsibility within both the month end pack and by presenting to the Planning & Reporting Manager during "flash reviews"
• Ad-hoc support to Planning & Reporting Manager as required
