Job description

Our client, a market leading International FX company based in London, is looking to recruit a Banking Operations Manager to join their EMEA Banking Operations department. The department is primarily responsible for day-to-day network management of our client's EMEA banking network including account setup and closure, KYC/EDD, systems maintenance, as well as being a key interface with our banking partners across a range of areas.

Main responsibilities of the Banking Operations Manager will include;

  • Support Day to Day oversight of the Banking Operations team (3 FTE), ensuring tasks are completed, and escalating appropriately to the Head of Operations when required.
  • Own the bank account maintenance process in EMEA; opening / closing / dormancy
  • Ensuring all accounts are setup correctly, inline with the needs of the business
  • Manage the KYC and EDD processes between WF and our various banking counterparties
  • Partner with internal teams, in particular AML, Compliance, Operations and Treasury
  • Manage permissions and access in the various banking systems, ensuring all relevant users have the correct access and limits
  • Oversee the bank fee monitoring process, ensuring MI is collated and produced, providing insight and supporting the business hitting budgetary goals
  • Provide insight into how we can improve internal systems and taking the initiative to lead on broader improvement objectives
  • Point of escalation for BAU issues within the team.
  • Ensure a high standard of partner relationship management is maintained, with stakeholders internally and external kept informed appropriately
  • Evolve and enforce departmental processes/procedures and controls
  • Oversee banking partner quarterly performance reviews
  • Partner with the global financial institution business development and product teams to deliver business goals
  • Meeting regularly with direct reports, building a culture of effective communication, feedback and development
  • Ensuring roles and responsibilities within the team are clearly defined, maintaining an effective structure
  • Point of escalation for BAU issues within the team

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

  • Be a self-starter with strong banking operations management experience
  • Strong experience being a systems administrator (both deciding and arranging user access to banking systems)
  • Deep understanding of bank onboarding (KYC/EDD) and account management processes
  • People management experience essential
  • Desire to work in fast paced, often unstructured environment
  • Great communication skills, with stakeholders of all levels, internally and externally
  • Experience of developing and improving systems and processes
  • Experience building out operational controls
  • Understanding of the UK & EU banking and payments environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Fantastic organisation and an ability to work under pressure
