Job description
My client are leading investment firm based in the West End. They are currently looking for a Corporate Actions Analyst to join them on a permanent basis. This position also has hybrid working with 3 days in the office a week
Reponsibilities as Corporate Actions Analyst include:
Regulatory & Business conduct
Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our organisations Code of Conduct.
Taking personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across the business.
Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance
Corporate Actions
Identifying and communicating voluntary corporate actions to the internal portfolio management team, and explaining their available election options.
Submitting their desired elections into the designated system for delivery to appropriate entities (vendors/custodians/etc.).
Identifying ambiguous actions before their effective date, to ensure appropriate safeguards are put in place to prevent incorrect data from being used for portfolio management purposes.
Monitoring internal book-of-records to ensure mandatory and voluntary actions are being processed in a timely manner and with the expected details, including postings where required.
Risk Management
Escalating and working with management where there is a time critical issue / risk of financial loss.
Working with custodians, third-party vendors, internal stakeholders etc identifying points of risk and amending workflows to reduce that risk.
Relationship Management
Overseeing external vendors and service providers relationships.
Receiving and resolving inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and communicating effectively with clients when necessary.
Working with internal and external groups to resolve complex action issues.
Operations
Driving change through workflow or technology upgrades and enhancements, to better deliver a quicker and more efficient service.
Enabling better MI of Corporate Actions through data manipulation and presentation.
Taking ownership of operational procedures and processes while maintaining and updating as necessary.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
Undergraduate Bachelors degree, or equivalent, ideally in mathematics, economics or other related fields.
Experience within the Financial Services sector, preferably within corporate action processing alongside accounting.
Custody exposure and knowledge of financial market activities and transactions.
Experience with Bloomberg is preferred
Uncovers and meets the needs of both the internal and external clien
Acts with urgency and works hard to address client demand
Effectively manages client expectations and delivers value-added service
Able to act quickly and accurately to identify and analyse relevant information regarding work tasks.
Makes accurate use of logic and considers all relevant factors to make rational, realistic and sound decisions.
Understands risk and the downstream impacts to the business relating to corporate action events being applied incorrectly.
Strong ability to multi-task.
Exceptional organisational skills.
Ability to identify and track project risks and deliverables.
