Job description

My client is a leading Financial Services firm based in the City with excellent transport links very close by.

They are recruiting for Fee Accountant to join their growing Finance team to assist in Process improvement for a 6-12 month period on a Fixed Term Contract basis.

Job description:

Process Tasks:

  1. Trailer Fee/Platform fee Process - Fund Provider Monthly RCCS processing (including monthly import of internal/external holdings, contract updates, retro rate updates, fund provider accruals). Monthly, quarterly and half yearly production of trailer fee actuals and reconciliation to within tolerance against fund provider statements. Trailer fee claims and direct payment analysis. Platform fee charging to fund providers including raising invoices. Follow up with Fund Providers to ensure trailer fees and platform fees are paid on time.

  2. Trailer Fee Process & Charging of fees to Clients - Six monthly client statement processing, reconciling fees to accruals and finalising payments.

  3. Nostro reconciliation entries related to fees and accounts postings, reconciliation of trailer/platform fee accounts in the general ledger;

Control Environment Tasks:

  1. Review standing data to ensure that it reflects the underlying client contracts.

  2. Review system and associated manual processes for potential improvements and efficiencies

  3. Specify and test any new system change

  4. Identify Key and Supporting controls to ensure process operates in an error free environment

  5. Develop appropriate audit trail to ensure fee billing and trailer fees can be easily supported and verified.

  6. Update Process documentation to reflect changes in process/ system.

  7. Month - end closing knowledge

Candidate requirements:

  1. Self starter able to work with staff at all levels and ensure they are able to understand day-to day procedures

  2. Exposure to asset management industry is desirable

  3. Language skills such as German/ French would be an advantage.

  4. Computer literate in Excel and Word.

  5. Experience implementing process improvement documentation and procedures.

  6. Qualified accountant would be desirable but not a necessity

  7. Good understanding of accounting principles and implications when making postings.
