Job description

The Position:

Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager will be key in embedding financial processes to shape insight led business performance and deliver operational results. The Finance Manager has primary day-to-day responsibility for overseeing and shaping the financial operations in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial results.

With multiple experiences in financial accounting, you will have supervisory skills, strong software knowledge and be analytical. Your effective communication links with the commercial and operational managers will support their objectives of growing the business within the agreed control environment. You will directly supervise Credit Management, Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Understanding and ensure that all elements of the finance function are compliant with relevant legislation, tax, industry and best practice standards
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
  • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc
  • Be supporting the CFO in decisions with respect to commercial/contractual review and negotiations
  • Plan and organise accounting work in the department
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with external parties including Banks and other key stakeholders
  • Drive process improvement across the finance function and IT processes.
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Ability to identify cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities

Qualifications and skills:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification is a must have
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, with relevant experience in a similar environment
  • Demonstrated Commercial and business awareness
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, with a strong focus on team work and collaboration
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Strong systems experience and a focus on utilising technology
  • Experience in a START UP/FIN TECH business is a massive advantage
  • Ability to identify and implement changes effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational performance and deliver commercial outcomes through the interpretation of financial information
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative as well as work as a member of a team
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic about the business who can support the commercial and operational leads
