Your new role
As Financial Controller you will report to the Financial Director, managing a nimble finance team. You will oversee the organisation's financial governance, treasury operations, financial control and reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to the Board and other senior stakeholders. You will take a hands-on approach to both the finance function and the wider business, with a special emphasis on reporting to key internal stakeholders. Managing month end, year-end, statutory accounts and various reporting obligations for the organisation, your experience and gravitas will be extremely important in communicating with key operational stakeholders, to create stable and long-lasting business relationships, in order to implement essential business decisions.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a hands-on, progressive ACA/CA qualified professional with a high degree of self-motivation, an eye for detail and a track record in a similar role. You will likely be Chartered trained and have since progressed into finance leadership roles across various industries. Some background in Not for Profit, Charity, Education or Research focused industries will be viewed favourably. You will have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and experience managing and mentoring staff. You will also have the ability to build strong partnerships across all areas of the organisation and work with a variety of different stakeholders. You will be systems savvy with advanced Excel skills and be familiar with a range of ERP systems. Financial modelling experience and the ability to implement and drive projects and strategies around budget control and forecasting as well as projects to improve and implement systems and processes is also critical. Experience developing BI tools and dashboard reporting would be ideal.
