Job description
KennedyPearce are working with a Leading SME infrastructure company based in the city hiring a Financial Controller. This role manages 2 junior accountants and reports into a Finance Director. This position is newly created due to growth of the company. This company have a flexible working policy and around 2-3 days in the office are required per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Planning, Analysis, and Management:
- Manage budgeting and forecasting
- Develop and implement financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Conduct regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
- Proactively support managers to manage budgets throughout the year aligned with business goals.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and contribute to long-term financial planning.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow
- Implement effective working capital management strategies.
- Monitor and analyse financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Financial Controls and Processes:
- Supervise a small team to deliver effective and timely Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial, and Management Accounting services.
- Maintain robust internal controls and continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
- Provide guidance on financial policies and procedures.
- Optimise the processing of our financial transactions with improved systems and technology.
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this position, we're seeking the following skills and experience:
- A qualified accountant: ACA, CIMA, ACCA.
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller role (or working at a similar level) with an SME
