Job description

A leading investment firm is seeking a bright graduate with exceptional academics to join their team as a Finance Assistant on a permanent basis. The Finance Assistant will contribute to the daily operational support and administration of nominated funds and group entities. Key responsibilities will include the timely processing and monitoring of all payments and receivables across a number of trading companies. To be selected for interview you must be a recent 2020 graduate from a top 30 university with a strong academic record.

* Sales ledger; calculation and accounting for fee income, including accruals, invoices, receipts and related adjustments
* Revenue analyses, including segmental and departmental
* Debtor management
* Revenue query resolution involving liaison with client account directors, administrators and the wider business
* Maintenance of client billing data and payment details
* Month end analyses and journal postings; accruals, prepayments and other journals
* Management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation support
* Variance analysis to prior actual and budget
* Bank account management
* Bank reconciliations
* Cash postings
* Purchase ledger support - supplier and expenses queries, processing and payment
* Assist in the production of statutory financial statements
* External audit support
* Communication with external bodies such as banks, advisers, third party administrators and auditors
* Attend meetings and present suggestions in writing/verbally
* Propose improvements to processes, controls and systems
* Maintain up to date procedural documentation
* Understand and adhere to financial and accounting regulations
* Assist with accounting/financial tasks and projects, as required

Requirements

* 2:1 or above at degree level from a top 30 university
* Strong A levels and GCSE's (A*-C)
* Quick learner, with confidence to work independently
* Diligent work ethic and ability to prioritise the processing of large volumes of transactions
* Strong excel skills and keen attention to detail
* Team player with excellent organisational skills
* Good telephone manner and written skills
