Our client an International Financial Services firm based in the City of London, are looking to recruit a Middle Office Specialist for an initial 6 month FTC. The objective of the Middle Office Specialist is to provide high quality service and support to the Equity Sales/Trading desks, as well as to internal and external clients. Product coverage includes Cash Equity Sales/Trading, Program/Electronic Trading and International Equity Trading. In support of the various desks and clients, the Middle Office Specialist works closely with other middle office, back office, and technology personnel to achieve straight through processing while minimising risk, exposure and errors.

Main responsibilities of the Middle Office Specialist will include;

  • Transaction processing and allocation
  • Use of CTM and other confirmation and allocation systems
  • Query management from clients, Front Office and other internal departments
  • Functional oversight of Pre-Matching and Pre/Post Settlement functions for the UK, Irish and Pan European markets
  • European and Crest settlements with use of market specific GUIs and systems
  • Monitoring of upcoming market and/or regulatory developments,
  • Risk Management of all relevant departmental items such as market specific penalties/fines, buy-ins, fails and depot/nostro/internal breaks,
  • Ensuring departmental adherence to internal and external risk/control/governance/regulatory policies,
  • Production, maintenance and presentation of KPI's, RCSA's, MIS and escalation policies in conjunction with risk and control.
  • Guidance and training of junior team members

To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

  • Experience of electronic and high frequency trade flows
  • EMEA brokerage experience
  • Experience of CCP intermediation, specifically Traiana CCP Connect and BATS ETR
  • Direct interaction or experience working with UK and European CCPs and CSDs
  • 10 years+ settlements experience (with at least 5 years in equities in Europe)
