Job description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Reinsurance Technician to work for this global Insurance leader based in the City. As part of the reinsurance team you will be processing reinsurance collection, premiums and adjustments.

Currently home based, once the staff return to the office, you wil be required to attend the City office on a flexible remote working module - to be advised

Main duties:

  • Enter RI policies on internal Reinsurance systems and liaise with Inwards Credit Control and EOBS Team
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, specifically Re-insurers, Brokers, Underwriters and EOBS reinsurance teams
  • Ensure premiums are paid to reinsurers
  • Conform to all agreed and active standards and procedures
  • Maximize the process in place within the Underwriting Division in order to ensure timely and accurate data being captured on all core underwriting system and spreadsheets
  • Provide Admin support to the Director of Underwriting Management in all aspect of reinsurance procedures
  • Working with, produce and maintain procedure guidelines for Underwriting Division
  • Prepare reinsurance analysis reports and financial illustrations for management review
  • Prepare documentation as instructed by the Authorized Purchaser
  • Deal with broker/reinsurer requests for information and/or queries
  • Assist with capturing cover note information on reinsurance systems to ensure that all correct details are logged
  • Preparation of data for and liaison with internal management, EOBS reinsurance team and credit control teams to ensure accurate data is collated
  • Undertake ad-hoc technical reviews and propose solutions in order to identify issues and opportunities and present findings accordingly

Preferred Competencies/Skills

  • Sound knowledge of Reinsurance business, in particular Facultative Reinsurance skills
  • Sound knowledge of business processes, good interpersonal and communication skills, in particular experience dealing with Brokers and Reinsurers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel and Word
  • A high level of numeracy and literacy
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize work to demanding deadlines
  • Ability to analyze data and use for decision-making

Duration: 6 month FTC

Day Rate: £200 - £218 plus holiday pay (PAYE)
Location: City of London / Currently home based but flexible working will be introduced once staff return to the office
