Senior Management Accountant

My client is a start-up manufacturing business with a diversified offering that focusses on providing a range of niche products and services to consumer markets across the world. Due to increasing demand on the finance team a need has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant to join. Focused on supporting the Head of Finance with monthly reporting on operating results as well as day to day financial needs. This will be a challenging opportunity with the following key responsibilities:

Main Duties:

  • Deliver the monthly management accounts to strict deadlines
  • Assist Head of Finance in analysing the management accounts and discuss variances to budget
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including revenue and stock
  • Weekly/monthly margin/data analysis
  • Manage large data/revenue reporting and analysis
  • Assist with year end and half year end reporting and audit work.
  • Review and Process monthly payroll
  • Good systems understanding. Using stock control system, accounting software & payroll software.
  • Liaise with other teams in the company to understand reporting/budget requirements as well as budget variances
  • Assist with the preparation annual forecasts and Budgeting
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns and reporting
  • Complete national statistics requirements
  • Oversee transactional work from the rest of the team
  • Significant number of ad hoc tasks and process improvements

Person Specification:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Strong excel skills (intermediate level preferable)
  • Willing to learn and take on new challenges
  • Manufacturing experience preferable
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Comfortable working to tight/short deadlines
  • Able to plan and prioritise own work
  • Work on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • Process improvement and/or systems implementation experience desirable
