Job description

Our client, an international Bank based in London, are looking to recruit a Treasury Manager to join their expanding Treasury Department. The Department aims to add value and be an integral part of the day to day activities of the branch. The goal is to provide treasury services and products to the relationship managers in the existing and developing business units including IIB, Corporate and Retail, especially the growing Private Banking business unit. In addition to supporting the business units, the department in London takes on the responsibility of liquidity management of the branch and takes responsibility over PRA reporting through the relevant Senior Management function.

The incumbent will be required to complement the Senior Dealer in managing the market and liquidity risk of the branch, optimize the financial performance of treasury, transacts with banks and corporate counterparties and provide support to Private Banking and Wholesale Banking on Treasury matters. Provide sickness and holiday cover to senior dealer and compile internal and regulatory reporting.

Main responsibilities of the Treasury Manager will include;

  • Propose and develop product roll out and funding strategy in line with London branch requirements as outlined from time to time by Head of Wholesale Banking and evidenced through risk appetite statement
  • Ensure and proactively manage liquidity position of the wider London branch through both: Marketing of our client name across potential investors (FI/NBFI and Corporates) for additional liquidity raising; and Liaison with other business lines to understand the status of pipeline deals to ensure that treasury has adequate notice to pre-fund pipeline assets and manage their liquidity requirements; and (In conjunction with Group Head of ALM) Introduction of restrictive lending policy as defined from time to time by Head of Wholesale Banking
  • Develop relevant management information on pipeline and sensitivities within model
  • Provide monthly output to the above as well as ALCO, Group Treasurer, Risk and Audit as required
  • Provide the Head of Wholesale Banking daily commentary reports on P&L, liquidity risk and adherence to relevant limits
  • Ensure robust operational model for treasury operations and update operational model where applicable and adhere to internal treasury metrics including LCR/NSFR and gap limits
  • Ensure robust execution model for deposits/CDs and Money Markets
  • Transact client FX deal flow from both Private Banking and Wholesale Banking client base
  • Share owner ship of the generic Treasury email - advising and responding to incoming mail as appropriate including but not restricted to
  • To use Bloomberg and other available tools to research and analyse markets relevant to the London branch
  • Support adherence to all internal Treasury and liquidity policies
  • Support responsibility of the PRA liquidity requirements and documentation through the Head of Wholesale Banking
  • Ensure processing and reporting of management information, transactions and adherence to limits
  • Investigations of errors/ queries resulting from the production of management information
  • Provide second layer coverage for holidays and absences to the department representative
  • To manage Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) reports monthly
  • Responsible for the compilation of the Treasury Committee pack and other reporting required within the branch
  • Responsible for the treasury elements of ad-hoc reporting on credit lines, P&L, LCR, NSFR, HQLA and other similar reports
  • Ensure that all procedures followed by treasury are documented

Ideal candidates must have following experience and skills;

  • Minimum of 5 year experience within a treasury environment with direct responsibility for LCR/NSFR/Liquidity gap management
  • Minimum of 5 year experience with cash and FX products, valuation of financial instruments in banking and trading books
  • University degree to level of BSc (Economics or Accounting)
  • Professional qualification such as : CFA/ACT/IFQ/CISI/Certificate of ALM (Preferred)
  • Ability to compute numerical data by performing complex calculations using methods such as ratios, percentages and trend analysis
  • Intimate knowledge of Treasury products
  • Knowledge of systems including Calypso and Bloomberg
  • Understanding of accounting for treasury products

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
