Job description
An award winning international FinTech company are looking to hire an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. They offer a structured progression path within the company and therefore this role will suit an ambitious individual with the passion to qualify as an accountant.
The business is expanding and is therefore going through an extended period of rapid growth. The role will support the Finance team with ensuring a consistently smooth set of accounting functions.
This position will offer chances to get involved in preparation of management accounts and mentoring from an experienced Finance Manager.The Finance Manager has specified that candidates come with strong academics at degree level, hold some accounts experience and be a quick learner.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of management accounts with variance analysis
- Loan postings and journal entries
- Ownership of fund payments and inter-company reconciliations
- Analysis and reporting of loan book
- Assist with management of financial, regulatory and tax compliance, including corporation tax, VAT returns, budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Revenue and expense budgets monitoring
- Resolution of outstanding items on bank reconciliation
- Systems and procedure documentation
- Play a supporting role in the audit process with multiple external auditors
- Ownership of creditor positions and control accounts
- Ad hoc project work
Requirements
- Degree level educated 2:1 or above with strong secondary academics
- Part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
- 2 - 3 years accounting experience
- A background in financial services is extremely advantageous
- Sun experience preferred
- Confidant Excel ability (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure
