Financial Accountant
A new opportunity has become available for a recently qualified Accountant to join a leading publishing firm in the City of London. They offer an exciting position with the opportunity to learn and progress within the company so an ambitious individual is a pre-requiste.
Responsibilities
- Manage the year end audit process and production of financial statements
- Be the single point of contact for the audit and ensure information is prepared in advance to the required standard
- Be involved in due diligence and integration planning for any acquired companies
- Preparation of the consolidated monthly reporting pack for the Board of Directors
- Preparation of management accounts and all related Management reporting including analysing variances to plan and forecast
- Preparation of separate P&L's for individual stakeholders
- As well as planning, forecasting and reforecasting there will be a need to develop reports tailored to the needs of the Board as well as the business
- Implementing, improving and adapting internal controls of the organisation and control of branches/regions
- Day to day overview and review of centrally managed costs. Analysis and reporting of costs and gross profit margins as part of monthly reporting cycle
Requirements
- ACA/ACCA recently qualified accountant
- Strong Excel skills and other office products
- Practical experience of several accounting systems
- Highly analytical and self-motivated to resolve problems
- Ambitious and highly professional
- Have the ability to develop strong internal relationships
- Be pro-active and flexible in approach with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills in order to meet strict reporting deadlines
- Possess excellent problem solving ability and is a quick learner
- Process driven and implements positive change
