My client, a successful global Engineering business is looking for a Project Accountant to join their head office team.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant and Financial Director the Project Accountant will be responsible for:

• Liaising with project managers to ensure all project costs are controlled and that data is accurate
• Working closely with project managers and the Finance Director to develop and produce the monthly/weekly reports and analysis
• Investigating and following up on any variances that may arise
• Keeping the project managers informed and preparing billings relating to individual projects
• Liaising with customers to enable effective and efficient invoicing and debt collection
• Meeting with project managers prior to review meetings to agree project status including contract values and estimates to completion
• Advising the Finance Director of any known variances or problems of significance which may affect the outcome of a project
• General finance duties including Balance Sheet reconciliations and Nominal Ledger maintenance
• Developing and enhancing the Project system in combination with peers and colleagues
• Working with the commercial team to review opportunities and prepare revenue projections

The successful candidate will:

• Have extensive experience as a project accountant ideally within a consulting business
• Have experience in the billing and revenue on a project basis
• You will be studying towards or coming up to completion of ACCA / CIMA
