Job description

KennedyPearce are currently recruiting a Service Charge & Rents Team Leader on behalf of a continually growing commercial housing company.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To deliver the day to day operations of the all rent and service charge functions across the group.
  • To act as an ambassador for continual service improvement.
  • To deliver the agreed resource work plan and ensure the successful and accurate completion of tasks that occur on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual and ad-hoc basis to the expected standards.
  • Ensure that the company operates within the RSH Rent Standard and that any potential risks are flagged to the Property Accounts Manager through regular monitoring and data checks
  • To ensure that the team delivers all tasks to statutory deadline, internal policies or within the Service Level agreement with the Heads of Finance.
  • To ensure that members of the Property Accounts Team are sufficiently trained so that the team is multi-skilled and can deliver outcomes during periods of peak activity.
  • To proactively ensure regular checks are performed to ensure that key data is correct and accurate ensuring the integrity of relevant data inputted into the financial system to include ongoing reviews of leases and updating the type of services provided to all our properties.
  • Ensure accurate estimate and reconciliation of service charges for existing estates and new developments providing guidance, training and support to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Carry out monthly variance monitoring of all property expenditure against income charged.
  • To manage the audit closedown process and ensure that good quality records are available for the end of year Service Charge audit.
  • To ensure that the annual calculation of Ground Rent is accurately calculated and billed to residents in a timely manner.
  • Support the Rent and Service Charge Business Partner with the production of the annual rent and service charge budget setting informing the estimates sent to residents.
  • Maintain and reconcile sinking funds and bank accounts.
